Rape process in Frankenthal: Nine cases shake the city!
A 28-year-old man has been on trial in Frankenthal since Tuesday for multiple rape. The indictment includes nine cases of sexual violence against women who have occurred between summer 2019 and January 2024. In eight cases, the accused is accused of raping women, with some victims being affected several times. In five cases, violence was used, while in other situations the women were forced to sleep against their will.
The process extends over several months and takes place in front of the large criminal chamber of the Frankenthal Regional Court. A central topic is the accused's methods through which he brought women into his control. He met the victims over platforms such as Tinder and Facebook. The first meetings often started with mutual kisses or sex before the accused went over to undesirable and humiliating practices.
The victims and the legal procedures
Lawyer Katja Kosian, who represents one of the victims in the co -lawsuit, was convinced of the accused's debt. The situation is extremely stressful for the victims who are supported by a total of five lawyers. The process will take a total of 20 days of negotiations until the beginning of June.
The crime scenes of the accused stretch over several cities in Rhineland-Palatinate, including Ludwigshafen, Maxdorf, Mutterstadt, Hochspeyer and Mannheim. In view of the sensitivity of the cases, the public could partially be excluded from the process to protect the women concerned, which emphasizes the complexity of the situation.
social context
The severity of allegations and the frequency of sexual violence are topics that are increasingly being considered in society. Statistics from Germany show that the crime burden in relation to sexual attacks is very different in region. According to data from the Federal Criminal Police Office, the crime burden in different federal states is different, which requires a differentiated view of the problem. Federal states with higher dark shades on the crime map indicate an increased load per 100,000 inhabitants, an indicator of the spread of such crimes.
The accused is currently in custody because of the allegations and will continue to be on trial in the coming months. The company is eagerly awaiting the judgments that will not only have a great relevance for the victims, but also for all those affected by sexual violence.
