Christmas tree collection in Landau: This is how it is done!
The Disposal and Wirtschaftsbetrieb Landau (EWL) has announced the pick-up of the Christmas trees for the second calendar week, from January 6 to 10, 2025. The trees must be provided on the roadside or on the container collection spaces on the day of the collective day from 6 a.m. It is pointed out that Christmas trees may be a maximum of 1.5 meters high and higher specimens must be shortened accordingly. In addition, the trees must be completely decorated.
After collecting, the Christmas trees are crushed and fermentation and composting are fed. The resulting compost is used as an organic fertilizer in agriculture. If there are problems with collection, citizens can contact the company Prezero on 07272 7005 35 or by email. Alternatively, there is the possibility to deliver the trees free of charge in the recycling center "Am Hölzel" in Landau-Mörlheim, Monday to Saturday from 7.30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
additional pick -up dates
In addition to the pick -up dates of the EEC, there is another period for the pick -up of unused Christmas trees, which lies from January 13th to 24th, 2025. It should be noted that only one pick -up date can be perceived per property. The pick -up date is marked in the waste calendar by a fir tree symbol and the trees must be provided at the container site by 6 a.m. With this pick -up, a maximum length of 3 meters and a maximum trunk diameter of 15 cm is permitted.
Before collection, it is necessary to remove the tree decorations because the collecting Christmas trees are intended for compost processing. Alternatively, the Christmas trees can also be handed over free of charge at recycling centers or small -scale points. In addition, the youth fire brigades collect Christmas trees in various districts on Saturday, January 11, 2025, including Auringen, Biebrich, Breckenheim and several more.
