World Exhibition 2025 in Osaka: A festival of diversity and innovation!
On April 12, 2025, Japan ceremoniously opened the World Exhibition Expo 2025 in Osaka. The opening ceremony took place in the presence of Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako, who were present together with the crown prince couple and Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba. This Expo is an important international event that follows the central theme "Designing Future Society for our Lives" and wants to present innovative concepts for the society of the future.
Expo is held on the artificial island of Yumeshima, which is about 10 kilometers from the city center of Osaka. This dream island is surrounded by the impressive "Grand Ring" wooden structure, which extends over two kilometers and is up to 20 meters high. The “Grand Ring” symbolizes the concept of the world exhibition, which focuses on diversity and unity. By October 13, 2025, more than 160 countries, regions and international organizations will present their ideas and technologies. Organizers expect around 28 million visitors.
