In the West Palatinate Stadium of Zweibrücken, there are significant changes: the Wurfring is transferred to a new location. This renovation, initiated by the Kaiserslauterer company Laub and carried out by the Ledig company, starts in calendar week 20, starting on May 12th. The completion of the work is planned for the end of the 21st calendar week, as the Rheinpfalz reports.
The reason for the move of the Wurfring lies in security concerns that were created due to the original throwing. The old Wurtring was in the back corner of the meadow and pointed towards the all -weather places and the tennis hall. The new location will be located near the parking lot behind the SVN Zweibrücken sports home. The newly oriented throwing sector will now be shown in the direction of Hofenfelskreisel and Landauer Straße, which protects tennis hall and places from possible dangers.

In the middle of these structural changes, Timo Port, a promising young hammer thrower, causes a sensation. The VT Zweibrücken athlete was at the top of the German annual best list in the M15 age group with an impressive width of 64.04 meters. It is noteworthy that Port trained with a hammer weighing five kilograms, although the larger sports equipment in its age group should only weigh four kilograms.

In addition to port, other athletes from Christoph Sahner's hammer throwing group were able to convince: Amelie Lambert took the 10th place with 43.02 meters in the female youth U20. Manuel Bernabeu Walz also reached 10th place in the male youth U18 with 50.47 meters, while Noah Bohn from LC Rehlingen took 14th place with 45.24 meters.parallel to the sporting development of port and the renovation work in the stadium, the topic of sustainability in sports facilities is also becoming increasingly important.
