In contrast, the left was able to increase by 2.6 percentage points and came to 6.4 %. The BSW, which competed for the first time and received 5.7 % of the votes, was new on the ballot boxes. This could indicate a growing interest in alternative political options.

Despite the high turnout, there are worrying tendencies in the electorate: 69 % of those surveyed consider the AfD as a danger to democracy. While the CDU/CSU cuts off well, especially in older voters, younger voters tend to the left or Afd.
