Technology in Aachen: Together against neo-Nazi march on January 18!

On January 18, 2025, a neo-Nazi group, organized by Ferhat Sentürk, a former AfD politician, is planning a deployment in Aachen. The aim of the demonstration is the area of the main train station, where a final rally near the Autonomous Center (AZ) is to be held. In this context, there is a queer event entitled "WTF - The Tunification Show!" Instead of further increasing the state -funded provocation. This demonstration is perceived by many as a targeted intimidation measure, since the planned route leads through the migrant Eastern quarter. Ferhat Sentürk has pleaded for a “million -fold remigration” in the past, which makes his goals and that of his followers clear.

The citizens who want to get up against this demonstration are called up by the alliance "We are Aachen" to a counter -demonstration at the main train station. At the same time, the DGB Region NRW Süd-West and Rainbow e.V. organize a chain of people and a comprehensive supporting program. The aim of these measures is to set a strong sign against hatred and exclusion and to protect the queer event in the AZ.

important information for participation

For everyone who wants to participate in the counter -demo, there are important information on safety and the process:

  • up to 10 rallies are planned.
  • participants should keep distance if discrimination against rights and surround themselves with familiar people.
  • Participation in groups is recommended; Weather -appropriate clothing must be worn and calm.
  • The use of public transport is advised.
  • incidents should be documented from a safe distance.

The security situation is worrying. Last demonstrations in which neo-Nazis bordered on CSD parades have shown that the risk to queer people is considerable. In various German cities there were violent attacks on participants of queer policy events through violent right groups. These incidents underline the urgency of an active civil society that clearly positions itself against such extremist activities. The mobilizations of the neo -Nazi spectrum have terrifying parallels to the practices of the National Socialist past and aim to violently suppress queer visibility.

The situation in Aachen is another expression of the intensified cultural struggle, in which right groups try to enforce their agenda through fear and intimidation. While a queer event is to be celebrated in this region, neo -Nazis threaten to overlay the messages of tolerance and diversity with hatred and violence. It is important that both supporters of the queer community and the general public actively compete against these threats and for a solidarity, including society.
