Halberstadt is pivot for worldwide Mercedes-Benz spare parts!
On January 2, 2025, the new Daimler Truck Global Parts Center (GPC) is being built in Halberstadt, Saxony-Anhalt, a central component of Daimler Truck's aftersales logistics. The commissioning of the state -of -the -art logistics center is planned for May 2025. In the future, the parts supply will no longer be carried out from the GLC Germersheim, this location will only be used as a spare dividing warehouse for cars.
The Global Parts Center on a property area of almost 900,000 m² is available via a logistics area of around 250,000 m². Over 300,000 spare parts should be kept in stock or available at short notice. The logistics process is supported daily by the entrance and delivery transactions of almost 200 trucks in the in and outbound. By November 2025 there will be a transition period with a parallel delivery via the GLC Germersheim before the Halberstadt location can operate the global after sales independently from the end of 2025.
extensive supply chain and jobs
The new location will build over 2,600 suppliers to secure the spare parts for the need. In addition, the logistics center operates around 20 regional logistics centers worldwide, including in Turkey, Brazil and China. A total of around 3,000 vehicle dealers are supplied in more than 170 countries.
With the first expansion stage of the center, at least 450 jobs are created, while up to 600 jobs are to be created in further expansion stages. The new location is also designed for CO₂-neutral operation from the start and does not fully do without fossil fuels, which underlines an innovative energy concept.
like Daimler Truck reports, the GPC in Halberstadt will also cover the part supply for FUSO in Europe and thus represent a decisive pivot in the worldwide spare parts supply of Mercedes-Benz truck.
This development marks an important step in optimizing the logistical processes in the Daimler Truck Group and sets new standards in the efficiency and sustainability of the spare parts supply.
