Eintracht Trier under pressure: No points and defensive again disappointed!

Eintracht Trier experienced a new disappointment on the 31st matchday of the Regionalliga Südwest. The team lost 2: 3 away against the Stuttgart Kickers, despite an impressive hit by Ömer Yavuz and overall higher possession as well as more opportunities.

The Trierers faced a difficult task in the first half. The Kickers took the lead early: Lukas Kiefer scored in the 18th minute to 1-0, followed by another goal of the Stuttgart Mario Borac, which was already 2-0 in the 24th minute. Despite a dominant style of play and more possession of the ball, Trier could not find their way into the game and went into the half -time break with a 0-2.

return and late hope

coach Thomas Klasen made two changes in the line -up after the last defeat against SC Freiburg II. Mirko Schuster returned to central defense, while Hokkon Sossah formed the storm together with Damjan Marceta. These adjustments seemed to be paid out in the second half when Ömer Yavuz made the connection to 1: 2 in the 48th minute.

However, hope did not last long. David Tomic scored the third goal for the Kickers in the 57th minute and restored the old distance of two goals. Christopher Spang then shortened to 2: 3 in the 66th minute and gave Trier hope again.

Despite all the efforts of Klasen, who changed four offensive forces to increase the pressure on the defensive of the kickers, the team could no longer achieve the equalization. The Kickers defensive series held, and the goal of keeper Louis Lord remained unaffected.

daily challenges

With this defeat, Eintracht Trier has remained without a win for ten games and is currently on the 12th place in the table, but with a cushion of five points on the relegation place. Trainer Klasen expressed his pride in his team's fighting performance, but emphasized the urgent need to improve the defensive and the evaluation of opportunities.

The next home game will take place next Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Moselle Stadium against the U23 of FSV Mainz 05. The ticket modalities for this game will be announced in the coming week. In the game against the Kickers there were 4,670 spectators in the Gazi stadium on the Waldau, and the action was led by referee Felix Ebert.

Looking looking at the season so far, the Stuttgart Kickers occupy the 5th place in the table and show themselves as a serious opponent. The pressure on Eintracht Trier is growing while the fans of the regional league hope for the upcoming challenges.
