Neunkirchen: New headmistress brings a breath of fresh air to the DBG!
At the Dietrich-Bonhoeffer-Gymnasium (DBG) in Neunkirchen there was a change in the school management: Kristine Scholz-Linnert was introduced as the new rector. She follows Werner Hücking, who had headed the school for 15 months. Scholz-Linnert has a comprehensive experience after taught at the Clara-Schumann comprehensive school in Kreuztal for many years. There she taught German and English. In addition, she was a member of the University of Siegen to significantly develop the didactics of teaching and writing.
In the past twelve years, Scholz-Linnert worked as an instructor for trainee lawyers and acted as a specialist advisor for the district government in Arnsberg. Her appointment as the rector follows a two -year intensive introduction including exams for this position. One of its main identifications is Dalton pedagogy, which is practiced on the DBG. This emphasizes the independence of the students and promotes the appropriation of knowledge through free work.
The first steps as rector
At her entry, she received a school bag that was filled with a book by Dietrich Bonhoeffer and photo cardit with the names of the teacher team. Shortly before the Easter holidays, Scholz-Linnert introduced himself to the students and gave them the task of naming their favorite stories. Her exploration of the school during the holiday helped her to familiarize themselves with all the premises.
Another central concern of Scholz-Linnert is to prepare the DBG for future challenges. The topic of artificial intelligence is particularly important to her. She emphasizes that pedagogy must come before technology. Their goal is to convey a positive picture of the future to the students and to encourage them to actively shape them.
student representative and school life
An essential part of school life at the DBG is the student representative (SV), which acts as a link between students, teachers and parents. Felia Uyar is currently the student representative, supported by Hannes Ermert as a deputy student representative. SV has organized numerous projects in recent years, including trips to Phantasialand, Christmas market campaigns and certification as a "school without racism - school with courage".
The SV ensures that the concerns of the students are heard and promotes a pleasant school life. Members always have the opportunity to clarify questions in the SV room and actively contribute to the design of their everyday school life.
The challenges of schools, such as those of the DBG, have grown considerably in recent years. [Schulen.de] reports that the German school system has changed significantly. New curricula and digital equipment have been introduced to make the lessons more modern and inclusive. Nevertheless, many schools suffer from the challenges of implementation, such as technical deficits and inadequate training opportunities for teachers.
Kristine Scholz-Linnert plans to integrate all of these aspects into the further development of the DBG. While she will teach a fifth grade in English, it is a matter close to her heart to accompany the students on their educational path and prepare them for the requirements of the future. Dietmar Schäffer, who headed the school temporarily, returns to the role of the deputy rector.
