On January 28, 2025, the city council of Landau will hold a decisive vote on the installation of a new floodlight system in the southern Palatinate Stadium. The city council plans to provide 85,000 euros for this important project, while the total costs of the floodlight system are estimated at 415,000 euros. The installation was originally planned for the past year, but the tender had to be lifted because all offers exceeded the cost calculation.

The commissioned planning office has made an adjustment of the cost calculation after checking the construction costs. It is now expected with additional costs of over 70,000 euros. For the city, the new floodlight system offers a variety of advantages, especially with regard to the use of the sports field.

The possibility of combining grants from various funding programs could even raise the financial framework to up to 80 % of the investment costs.
