Swimming talent Melina Jörgens led SV 1924 to 5th place in the league!

On January 22, 2025, the swimming association in 1924 started the new competition season with an impressive appearance. In an event that included several distances, the athletes showed their skills at the district level of the swimming district of Northwest Falen. It was important to collect points in various disciplines that are calculated according to a specified point system. The entire competition included routes over 50, 100, 200 and 400 meters in freestyle as well as 50, 100 and 200 meters in chest, back and butterfly. The longer distances of 800 and 1500 meters were swimming once, which made competition special. Every athlete was allowed to start a maximum of five times, but no route swimming twice.

The competition regulations are binding for everyone who participates in the events of the German Swimming Association (DSV) and observe §3 of the competition regulations ( Schwimmen-wssv.de ). Below the federal, top and national leagues, all teams competed at the district level. This season only a female team from the Bottrop swimming association competed because the male team had to cancel due to illness. The ten swimmers come from various competition groups and contested the competition with the aim of growing as a team and starting the season well.

Overall, the team collected remarkable 10,158 points and thus took the 5th place in the team classification. This is an excellent start of the season that strengthens the motivation of the young athletes and promotes team spirit.

The point values ​​for the swimming performance are determined using a formula based on the swimming time. The system, as is defined by World Aquatics , allows the comparison of results from various swimming events, whereby world -class performance typically received 1000 or more points. The base times are adapted to the times set by the world record provider annually.

The swimming association 1924 took a step forward not only at the district level, but also in the promotion of young talents. The athletes will continue to work to achieve their individual and collective goals for the season.
