On February 15, 2025, Boris Tomiak returned to the 1st FC Kaiserslautern with his new team Hannover 96. The second division game in the Fritz Walter Stadium ended in a disappointing 0-0, with both teams awarding numerous chances. On this return, which was of particular importance for Tomiak, he was whistled by the home fans, which underlined the mixed feelings of the trailers. Tomiak had played for the FCK for several years before completing the move to Hannover 96 in January 2025.

There he was a regular player since summer 2021 and contributed significantly to the rise of the club from the third division into the second division. This experience, coupled with his skills, makes him an important new addition to Hannover 96 in their current efforts to break through in the league.
